A Secure Base and Safe Haven for Clinicians
Supporting parents, infants and families can be deeply rewarding, complex and emotionally demanding. Clinical supervision offers a space to strengthen your skills and confidence, explore clinical challenges and feel supported in the work you do.
My approach to supervision is grounded in attachment theory and the importance of having both a Secure Base from which to explore, learn and grow, and a Safe Haven to return to when the work feels difficult.

A Secure Base and Safe Haven for Learning, Reflection and Connection
Group clinical supervision offers an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, share experiences and connect with other clinicians who understand the rewards and challenges of supporting parents, infants and families.

My supervision draws on attachment theory, schema therapy, Circle of Security and nervous system perspectives, alongside my experience developing the Integrated Core Needs Approach.
Group discussions may explore how these perspectives can be brought together to understand the needs beneath presenting difficulties and identify opportunities for meaningful change.
Groups may include structured professional development, case discussion, reflective practice and opportunities to explore practical therapeutic resources.
Some groups focus on particular areas of practice, such as attachment-focused interventions, while others provide a broader space for ongoing clinical supervision and professional connection.
I'm Symon Oliveri, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Perinatal and Trauma Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Founder of Contigo Child and Family.
With 20 years of experience supporting children, parents and families. My professional experience spans perinatal and infant mental health, child and family therapy, trauma, child protection and complex family circumstances, including work across Australia and internationally.
My qualifications and professional development include:
I bring together this clinical experience, ongoing professional learning and a collaborative approach to supervision that recognises the knowledge, skills and experiences you already bring to your work.
I am also the developer of the Integrated Core Needs Approach, which brings together attachment theory, schema therapy, Circle of Security and nervous system perspectives through a shared focus on core emotional needs.
The approach was developed to help clinicians keep the needs of parents and infants at the centre of their work, particularly when families are navigating complex and changing circumstances.
Within supervision, we can explore how this integrated understanding may support your existing practice, including:
- Recognising the needs beneath presenting difficulties.
- Understanding how schemas, Inner Critic messages and Protective Coping Responses may create barriers to meeting those needs.
- Integrating attachment and schema perspectives into case conceptualisation and therapeutic intervention.
- Using visual frameworks, parent resources and therapeutic tools to support collaborative work with families.
You do not need to be trained in the Integrated Core Needs Approach to access clinical supervision. Supervision is tailored to your professional experience, clinical interests and the families you support.
